This article describes two methods for recording calls on the iPhone, as well as tips for using pre-installed and third-party software to record calls.
1. How to Use an iPhone to Record a Live Conversation
The default Phone app does not support call recording. Using a phone app that supports recording is one of the simplest ways to record a live conversation on your iPhone. Google Voice is a popular and free app that fits the bill; other apps may charge a fee.

To use Google Voice to record live conversations, follow these steps:
Step 1 : Install the Google Voice app and configure it to make and receive phone calls.
Step 2 : Tap the three-line icon in the upper left corner.
Step 3 : Select Settings.
Step 4 : Slide the Incoming call options slider to the on/blue position.

Step 5 : Answer the phone when you receive a call that you want to record. Then, on the keypad, press 4 to begin recording. Tap 4 once more to end the recording.
Note : When you press 4, a voice announces that a recording has begun, so you can't record a live call without the other person knowing.
Step 1 : Your call recordings are saved in the Google Voice app's voicemail tab.
2. How Do I Use Voice Memos to Record a Phone Call on My iPhone?
Don't want to go through the hassle of configuring Google Voice to record calls? There is another method, but it requires two devices. Even though the iPhone's Phone app does not support recording calls, you can use it in conjunction with Apple's Voice Memos app to accomplish the task.
Here's what you should do:
Step 1 : Begin the call you want to record using the Phone app.
Step 2: To put the call on speakerphone, tap Audio, then Speaker.

Step 3: Get a second device with the free Voice Memos app from Apple. It could be an additional iPhone, an iPad or iPad touch, or even a Mac. Launch the Voice Memos application.
Step 4: Hold the second device close to the iPhone and press the red record button to begin a new voice memo.

Step 5 : When the call is finished, tap it > tap... > tap Share > tap the app you want to use to share it.

3. Other iPhone Call Recording Apps
Find an app in the App Store to get the most options for recording calls on your iPhone. There are many call-recording apps, and we haven't tested them all, so we can't say which is the best, but some of the most highly rated call-recording apps are:
- NoNotes Call Recording is a free app with in-app purchases.
- Rev Call Recorder is available for free with in-app purchases.
- TapeACall Pro is available with in-app purchases.
4. Is it Legal to Tape a Phone Call on an iPhone?
You may need to record your phone calls if you're a journalist, podcaster, or customer service representative. There is no programme pre-installed on the iPhone for recording calls, and the built-in Phone app lacks a call recording feature. So, yes, recording is possible. The laws in your state or municipality will determine whether or not it is legal in your area.
