Recent Geekbench testing results have revealed some previously unannounced Mac hardware.
The Steam Hardware and Software Survey for November has revealed the existence of two unreleased Macs. This occurs as upgraded models of the MacBook Pro and Mac Studio are anticipated to be released by Apple sometime in early 2023.
Coming soon are new M2 Macs
Every month, Steam releases information about the software and hardware that its users are utilizing. This provides details about specifications, operating system versions, and other things. In general, these numbers aren't particularly fascinating to the general public, but the results for November are noteworthy due to these upcoming Macs.
A MacRumors tipster saw it initially, but the survey results for Two unannounced Macs with the model numbers "Mac14,6" and "Mac15,4" were displayed in November. These Macs are being used at a rate of "0.00%," which indicates that they are seldom ever utilised at all. Recently, the "Mac14,6" identity has appeared a few times in Geekbench test results. The results, which included a single-core score of 2027 and a multi-core score of 14888 in one test, are thought to represent the M2 Max chip. The M2 Max chip scored 1853 on a single core and 13855 on a multi-core in another leaked Geekbench result.
On the other side, this is the only place we have yet encountered the "Mac15,4" designation. a steam data. This model number most likely refers to a different unreleased M2-powered Mac, such as a new iteration of the Mac Studio or a distinct MacBook design.
